Dallas, TX - August 30, 2024 — The Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Dallas campus has been recognized as a School of Excellence by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). This prestigious award is the highest institutional recognition given by the ACCSC and is awarded to only a select few institutions. For the 2023-2024 accrediting period, UTI-Dallas is one of just 19 schools out of 575 accredited by the ACCSC to receive this honor.

This is the second time UTI-Dallas has earned the School of Excellence distinction, having previously received the same accolade during the 2017 accreditation cycle. The award is a testament to the campus’s consistent commitment to maintaining rigorous accreditation standards and achieving outstanding student outcomes.

Jesus Miranda, President of the UTI-Dallas campus, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement: “I am immensely proud of the tireless efforts and dedication of the UTI-Dallas team. Achieving ACCSC School of Excellence recognition for the second time is a true testament to their unwavering commitment to educational excellence.”

Dr. Michale McComis, Executive Director of ACCSC, highlighted the significance of the award: “The School of Excellence Award highlights a school's efforts and its success in offering high-quality education that benefits students—it is a distinction that a school earns through meeting and exceeding accreditation standards of best practice. UTI has demonstrated its commitment to equip students with in-demand skills and an opportunity to excel in the workforce.”

Tracy Lorenz, Division President of UTI, added, “At UTI, we are focused on delivering a quality education, as recognized by our accreditor. We are committed to helping prepare our students for future careers in the in-demand fields of transportation, skilled trades, and the energy sector and helping meet the needs of employers in these fields.”

The UTI-Dallas campus, established in 2010, offers an Associate in Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology II, Automotive & Diesel Technology II, and a diploma in Diesel Technology II. The 95,000-square-foot facility also provides a diploma in Welding Technology, equipping students with the skills necessary to succeed in various high-demand industries.

The U.S. Department of Education recognizes ACCSC as the accrediting body for 575 post-secondary, trade, and technical schools that collectively serve more than 150,000 students nationwide in various vocational programs. The School of Excellence Award, received by only 19 schools during the 2023-2024 period, underscores UTI-Dallas’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in vocational education.
