Sul Ross State University Advances to Second Provisional Year for NCAA Division II Status

Fort Stockton, Texas — Sul Ross State University in Alpine has received approval from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to advance to its second provisional year in the process of transitioning to Division II athletic competition. This significant milestone indicates that the university has successfully met the required criteria to continue its progress towards full Division II status.


Athletic Director Amanda Workman expressed optimism about the university's future, stating, "Our teams have worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and we are excited about the opportunities that Division II status will bring to our athletes and the community."
