Midland Voters to Decide City Council Races on Election Day and Voting Locations

Midland, Texas — On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, residents of Midland will head to the polls to cast their votes in two significant City Council races. Eligible voters within the city limits will select representatives for the at-large (city-wide) seat and the District 1 seat, which generally covers north Midland.


Councilman John Norman of District 2, encompassing generally south and east Midland, will retain his position as he is running unopposed.


Polling stations across Midland County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters can choose to cast their ballots at any of the 21 designated voting centers:


  • Annex Building: 2110 N. “A” St.

  • Beal Park Ranch House: 5200 W. Wall St.

  • Centennial Library: 2503 W. Loop 250 N

  • Cogdell Learning Center: 201 W. Florida Ave.

  • Cotton Flat Baptist Church: 6409 S. Highway 349

  • Downtown Library at the Plaza: 301 W. Missouri Ave.

  • Fairmont Park Church of Christ: 3813 N. Midland Drive

  • Fellowship Community Church: 5206 N. Midland Drive

  • Golf Course Road Church of Christ: 3500 W. Golf Course Road

  • Greater Ideal Life Center: 301 S. Tyler St.

  • Greenwood Baptist Church: 10908 FM 307

  • Homeline Baptist Church: 3500 Anetta Drive

  • Horseshoe Arena: 2514 Arena Trail

  • Manor Park: 5212 Sinclair Ave.

  • Mid-Cities Community Church: 8700 State Highway 191

Robust Early Voting Turnout


According to the Midland County Elections Office, early voting saw a strong turnout with 46,311 ballots cast, including 1,022 mail-in ballots. This number slightly surpasses the early voting turnout of 46,139 in the 2020 election.

  • Oct. 22: 3,548 votes

  • Oct. 28 (Monday): 4,173 votes

  • Oct. 29 (Tuesday): 3,929 votes

  • Oct. 30 (Wednesday): 3,522 votes

  • Nov. 1 (Friday): 4,850 votes

Midland's Voter Participation in Context


The Texas Secretary of State reports that Midland County, with 99,004 registered voters, achieved a cumulative early voting rate of 46.73%, slightly below the state average of 47.97%.
