MIDLAND, Texs — In a major operation targeting human trafficking, 12 individuals were arrested in Midland County as part of a coordinated prostitution sting named "Operation Independence." The operation, which took place on July 11, involved multiple law enforcement agencies including the Midland County Sheriff's Office, Midland Police Department, Midland ISD, Odessa Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The sting targeted men soliciting sex for payment through various websites. Authorities reported that this operation was part of an ongoing effort to combat human trafficking and related activities in the region.
